Students share favorite study spots around campus

Whether for a quiet slumber, an intense writing session or hours of studying, many students have favorite spots around campus to visit when they need to prepare for finals. Mount Holyoke News asked students via Instagram stories to share their ideal location for a study session — check out these spaces next time you need to knock out some homework.

The Octagon Room in the Williston Memorial Library is several students’ favorite place to study. This seventh floor room is a draw for its distinctive shape and quiet atmosphere.

Another student highlighted the Whiting Alcove of the Williston Memorial Library, located on the sixth floor.

The Williston Memorial Library Atrium is another common spot for both working hard and hardly working, as students gather there to study, chat and drink coffee from Frances Perk. One student stated that they prefer to work there specifically at night.

The third floor in Blanchard Hall, complete with white boards, comfy chairs and small study rooms, is a social spot where some students like to study as well.

The Sociology lounge, located in Porter Hall, is another student’s go-to location for getting work done.

The Stimson Room on the sixth floor of Williston Memorial Library is the favorite study spot of another student. With its armchairs, large desks and wooden shelves filled with poetry books and literary magazines, it’s a quiet and cozy location for anyone looking to get lost in their schoolwork.
