New York City street named ‘Frances Perkins Place’

New York City street named ‘Frances Perkins Place’

On March 26, W46th Street between ninth and 10th Avenue was named “Frances Perkins Place” by the City of New York. The street is dedicated to Frances Perkins, a Mount Holyoke alum, widely recognized working-class advocate, former U.S. Secretary of Labor and the first woman to serve in a presidential cabinet.

French students travel to the Metropolitan Museum of Art

With the Metropolitan Museum of Art on their minds, 48 Mount Holyoke French students piled onto a bus to head to New York City. The trip took place on Saturday, Feb. 26, with the group leaving around 8 a.m. and returning to campus later that evening.
