The April 5 Mount Holyoke College senate meeting started with a Land Acknowledgment read by Shula Mathew ’22. Afterward, the E-board reminded senators that all materials for SGA E-board and Class Board elections are due on April 10. Chair of Halls Sophia Jung ’22 also announced that anyone interested in participating in her study, the “Immersive Virtual Reality Psychology Study,” should reach out to her through email.
Health Center holds flu vaccine clinic
On Friday, Oct. 26, the Health Center held a flu vaccine clinic for students.
“I really appreciated the event,” Lauren Gruen ’23 said. “I don’t have a car, so having something like this on campus was very helpful.”
According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, flu season can start in the United States as early as October and end as late as early May, and normally peaks from December through February. About 8 percent of the U.S. population gets sick from the flu each season.
COVID-19 sends 7 students into isolation
When Mount Holyoke College announced its return to the first in-person semester since March 2020, they did so with substantial expansions to the Community Compact. Among other requirements, the College mandated that all students, staff and faculty receive a COVID-19 vaccination either on or before move-in day.
