On Wednesday March 22, 4 people in London were killed and at least 20 injured in an attack that took place on the Westminster Bridge near the U.K. Parliament. According to the New York Times, at least 3 of the injured were police officers. A group of visiting students from Brittany, France were also among the injured. Two of the deceased were pedestrians on the bridge who were killed when one of the attackers drove a large vehicle into them. The remaining dead include a police officer and the assailant who stabbed him, according to Reuters. Another attacker wielding a knife attempted to enter Parliament before he was shot outside the gates.
British Prime Minister Theresa May was in Parliament when the attack took place. This attack came on the anniversary of the suicide bombings in 2016 in Brussels, Belgium that resulted in the death of 35 people, as reported by the New York Times.
