Mount Holyoke Lacrosse took on fellow New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference team Wheaton College at home in their Senior Day game on Saturday, April 16. Before the game started, the crowd and team took a moment to recognize seniors Emma Legacki ’22, Allie Brown ’22, Annika Brooks ’22, Sandra Prendergast ’22 and Emma Bowler ’22. The match resulted in a 18-4 loss against the Wheaton Lyons.

Hannah Bisson ’24 was assisted by Brooks to put the Lyons first on the board. Brown scored two goals and one assist while teammate Legacki came up with one goal and three shots.

Legacki and Brown tied for most shots with three each. Teammate Caroline Thompson ’24 scored two shots. Ella Phillips ’25 had one shot and two assists. Bowler posted 12 saves for the Lyons. Bowler and Brown both produced game highs, with Bowler taking eight ground balls and Brown winning the seven draw controls.

“The team was excited to play for our seniors and had great energy to start the game. We saw huge improvement from some newer players and the team showed such great support for every teammate throughout the whole game,” Head Lacrosse Coach Miriam Esber said. “As we near the end of our season, I am looking forward to seeing our continued improvement in each and every game as individuals and as a team. I want to see us keep our relentless attitude all the way to the last second of our final game.”

Mount Holyoke Lacrosse will play at Wellesley College on Saturday, April 23 and finish their regular season at home against Clark University on Wednesday, April 27.

“ We have high hopes and expectations for the future,” Esber reflected. “What I’ve taken away from this season is that no matter what you are doing at MHC or after graduation, building interpersonal relationships and having good communication skills are among some of the most important competencies you can work on.”
